The Kansas City metro and western Missouri come first, plus Springfield, Joplin, Columbia and St. Louis, and public ranges run by the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC). Facts we could not confirm are left blank, so always call before you go.

About MDC public ranges

MDC runs staffed ranges (Lake City near Blue Springs, Parma Woods near Parkville, Andy Dalton near Springfield, Busch and Henges near St. Louis, and Rocky Fork Lakes near Columbia) that charge about $5 per hour or per round, cash or check only. Its unstaffed ranges on conservation areas are free and open from half an hour before sunrise to half an hour after sunset unless posted. MDC has proposed requiring a small game hunting permit for its unstaffed firearms ranges starting Feb. 28, 2027, if finally approved. Check mdc.mo.gov before you go.
